Robin Andrade, AIA, is the Principal of Andrade Architecture, an architectural firm she founded in 2006.  With over 25 years of architectural experience in both the public and private sectors, Robin brings a wealth of architectural and construction management knowledge to her projects.  As principal, she oversees the design, execution and construction of each of the firm’s projects.

Robin has been actively involved in Sustainable Design for over 17 years from leading a workshop on passive green architecture at the first Earth Day Symposium in NYC to recently speaking at the Hudson Valley Green Real Estate Development Conference.  Along with her environmental stewardship she has also been an advocate for affordable housing and has been part of many community revitalization efforts in New York City and Kingston, NY.

Throughout Robin’s architectural career, both her background in large scale private/public sector work and smaller scale projects bring a unique rigor, professionalism, design flexibility, budget consciousness and construction management knowledge to any project.  Interior design is often an integral component of a successful project at Andrade Architecture.  Robin believes all aspects of design are important for a complete expression.  Andrade Architecture is also known for their successful collaborations with other architectural firms.

A native of New York City, she honed her architectural skills through invaluable experience gained working for a number of prestigious NYC firms, including the international firm, Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates (KPF).  At KPF she was a member of the design teams for the World Bank Headquarters (Washington, D.C.) and Goldman Sachs Headquarters in London (UK).  While practicing in NYC, she also gained extensive experience designing public sector projects, having worked on various airport and terminal projects for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.

Robin holds a MS in Advanced Architectural Design from Columbia University and Bachelor of Architecture from Pratt Institute.  She is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), Ulster County Chamber of Commerce, as well as a member of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).  Robin also serves as a Commissioner of the Heritage Area Commission for the city of Kingston, NY. (Ulster County).  She is a licensed architect in New York and Connecticut.
